EquiLend is looking for a self motivated individual who thrives in a small, challenging environment to join our Business Development Group in London.
Responsibilities will be to promote and increase the use of EquiLend services throughout the European and Asia region, and continue to develop and maintain senior client relationships.
The role includes ongoing business development activity including managing and leading business planning and strategic initiatives, by providing subject matter expertise, as well as the ability to plan, prioritise and optimise new business activities towards achieving planned revenue targets.
The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, together with excellent presentation skills, as well as good verbal and written communications skills.
General attributes
5-10 years of securities finance experience, gained within a financial institution, either from an operational or trading capacity, including experience in management of people.

Description
Lead team of developers to develop global trading and operations platform using Java application coding (J2EE), JSP, Servlets, EJB, JDBC, Javascript, SQL and PL/SQL (Stored Procedures), XML, Oracle and Unix Shell scripting and IBM MQSeries, Weblogic, common object oriented design patterns, multi-threaded concurrency, DML and DDL, UML know-how (Class, Sequence and Collaboration). Assist client in remediating production issues and debugging. Create new and enhanced platform functionality with business analysts. Author and update functional requirements and technical design documentation. Validate test plans and scenarios. Work with infrastructure team to ensure deployment and integration completed successfully. Provide client support.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Business
- 5 years of experience performing the same or similar duties of the position offered
- Or Master's degree and 2 years of experience.

Associate Application Support Analyst

Description
This individual’s primary responsibility is the ongoing application support of the firm’s Business to Business multi-tier trading and post trading platform.
Additional Responsibilities
- Assist client support personnel in the remediation of production issues, defects, and bugs
- Work synergistically with business analysts to create new and enhanced platform functionality
- Identify and recommend improvement needs
- Work with the infrastructure team to ensure deployment and integration tasks are completed successfully
- Support client efforts to integrate to the platform by providing technical subject matter expertise
- Majority of support is via phone or email, but some in person support
- Occasional weekend or out of hours work required
- Occasional travel within Europe
Technical Skills
- Strong SQL aptitude
- Unix/Linux environment experience and Shell scripting is helpful
- Working knowledge of XML
- Sound MS Office skills
Business Skills
- Financial services experience is helpful, but not required
- 1+ years experience would be helpful
- Strong analytical skills to solve problems
- Strong willingness to learn the underlying business
General Skills
- College Degree (Computer Science) is required
- Fulltime only – no consultants
- Ability to work in a small company – big client setting
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, good judgment, high ethical standards and a strong work ethic are a must
