In 2000, a group of 10 global financial institutions joined together, looking for ways to optimize efficiency in the securities finance industry by developing a standardized and centralized global platform for trading and operations services. EquiLend Holdings LLC was formed in 2001, and the platform went live in 2002.

Designed to process equity and fixed income securities transactions on a global basis, the EquiLend platform increases efficiency by standardizing, centralizing, and automating front- and back-office processes. EquiLend delivers global access to liquidity, reduced risk, and scalability.

Since its launch, EquiLend has increased to over 60 clients, introduced a number of new functions and enhancements, and has introduced the platform to the global fixed income securities finance community.

Investors include BlackRock; Credit Suisse; Goldman Sachs; J.P. Morgan Clearing; J.P. Morgan Strategic; Bank of America Merrill Lynch; Morgan Stanley; Northern Trust; State Street; and UBS.
